An update - thanks for MS for breaking compatibility
Code:
An ADO application does not run on down-level operating systems after you recompile it on a computer that is running Windows 7 SP 1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP 1 or that has KB983246 installed

Thank you Psiodon for that error log file- now that means one thing - I compiled using win7 SP1 and that breaks the ADO in other OS versions.

So now I am compiling several other versions for you all to test.
Also, I am going to test on a non sp1 machine once I get EQ installed, then hopefully the tools will work by sometime sunday. Keeps fingers crossed.
When you DL the test exe's please indicate your OS SP# and sucess/fail/works or something similar

Well the logfile.txt in the root directory fixed the run-time error but that is where everything ended. I get an immediate connection error and here is the split second log.

Code:
creating log entry
Identified user:root
Identified database:peq
Identified host:localhost
Identified everquest_folder:C:\Program Files (x86)\Everquest - SoD\
Completed getting user info
credential output to screen ok
Call to ODBC open connection started
Call to ODBC open connection failed
I am using Vista Ultimate SP2 fully update as of today.

Ok, after endless work on this, I got it to work on the test machine.
Now using a backwards compatible DLL, it should all work again as it should have in the first place.

Please DL the newest binaries -

Hope this is it after this long crazy ordeal.

--remember to run register_ocx.bat because I am using a new dll

Ok just added the same code base to the npc&loot editor. Uploaded the zip now.

Oh regarding the UI, nothing ever is changed. I would check your screen res. or change the setting just to make sure. There's very little I can do.

I just noticed file logfile.txt is missing from zip. Just create an empty file called logfile.txt in the same folder as the .exe

I'll fix the distribution tonight

While you are making fixes, is there anyway we can get versions of each of these editors that don't have a bunch of graphics, using them through Remote Desktop could be much faster if they had a 'thin' option.

Thanks,
Akkadius

Thanks for the update, I will do that tonight.
Also
Is there any chance of updating icon viewer?
Another of your handy tools)
Absolutly no rush, just of it can be done at some point.
If there is anything I can help with, I will

Thanks again

What do you want updated with the icon viewer?
Are there more icons you want added?

Yes
The dragitems are over 100 now
I keep my items updated and also make custom items.
So it comes in handy
There are a few missing on the last page, I managed to make the gifs for those but any added beyond the last one dont show

I know that most of these newer icons will be the new house items and such, so this isn't important and put on the "might do later" pile

You have a life, and I know how time consuming things like this can be )

Thanks again
