Ice Comets anyone?
Ill post a skinny version of this at the end so if you are lazy just scroll down now. Im Jibbatwinkers, if you dont know me I owned and ran the Zebuxoruk server for a little over a year and brought it down four or five months ago. Im looking to bring it back up, not really any other way to say that.
The ISP I used to run it on will be used again until the end of June when I will be moving, the ISP there has over three times the upload bandwidth at peak times and will be great for running the server on. Ill be there working a 9-5 job until Christmas so it should be a pretty stable platform for some server running action. I was unable to sell my server completely set up and still have it in the exact state it went down in.
My plans for the server when it comes back up are to polish what I have, make it easier for new people to figure out whats going on and easier for players to fix their own problems. I will also need to find a slew of new guides to help with stuck characters and that sort of thing. Make the server a little more user friendly, better in-game help with less reliance on all the information on the forums. Unfortunately the amount of Ice Comets you will receive from me in Zebuxoruk will most likely increase ten fold.
This brings me to the biggest problem, the forums and website. This is what will make or break this plan. I want the server to come back up because I think it was fun for a fair amount of the player base and was fun for me to play and develop with you. Basically Zebuxorukserver.com expires June 10th, 2007 that is this coming Sunday. A lot of you know I am a Mechanical Engineering student at Ohio State, needless to say Im completely broke and survive off peanut butter and rice. The subscription cost is roughly $82 and Im going out on a limb asking past players of the server to pitch in and help it to come back. I have most everything saved but I figure if I cant make this happen by Saturday night the players of EQemu arent too interested in bringing Zebuxoruk back.
So, Im looking to get at least close to $82 dollars by the night of Saturday, June 9th. Lets make it $78 because I have 4 dollars in my wallet. I wont charge any of you until I get past the goal. If it comes to be Saturday night and Ive only raised 10 dollars, Ill decline the purchase and let you know that I wont need your 10 dollars but thanks anyways. Ill keep you posted on this thread.

-Starting Thursday Ill start polishing the server and will give a date for relaunch pending the donation goal is met
