For fun also updated to MySQL 5.1.61x86, and switched Perl to 5.14x86 (still using VC2008 Express). Same errors. Guess I'll try VC2010Express now.

Ah ok then. Not an issue at all. It's a nice feature that I would use if it was there, so I didn't know if I missed a configuration option. I would agree it's in the "nice to have" bucket however....

I'm not familar with Netgear routers, but if it's forwarding both port types (UDP and TCP) then that's the same ports I'm forwarding and it works fine.
